A 2 month old boy born to HIV infected parents was referred for further management. Mother was diagnosed to be HIV infected at time of labour and was started on antiretroviral therapy. Baby was born vaginally and had a birth weight of 2.5 kg. Child was given Nevirapine 2 mg/kg/day and advised to continue the same for next 4 weeks which the parents gave. He was not on breast feeds. On examination, his weight was 4 kg, he had achieved social smile and other examination findings were normal.
